I was born and raised in Bozeman,  Montana. All my school years prior to coming to Hamline University were in the public school system, where I thrived in taking advanced STEM courses such as statistics, biology, and psychology (if you count it as STEM). My all-time favorite class was a 4-year biomedical science course that gave an in-depth introduction into the medical field. This class ultimately inspired me to pursue a career in medicine and genetics. I am also a professional musician of 9 years. My main instruments are the harp and piano, which I have been playing for 15 years, but I have experience with multiple instruments.

I am a senior at Hamline pursuing a biology major with a concentration in genetics, molecular biology, and cellular biology, but I do have many chemistry classes under my belt. I have been an Intro Biology TA for the past two years, where I have learned I love to teach. This, plus a fantastic experience in Genetics, has led me to pursue a Ph. D. in Cancer Genetics in the upcoming years, hopefully becoming a professor. I have also loved the labs I have done at Hamline. I have made Ibprophen in Organic Chemistry, Cloned a gene in Genetics, and worked to find medicinal treatments for cancer in Cell Biology!

• Get my Ph. D at Wellcome Sanger Institute to find targeted treatments for specific cancers based on genetic and epigenetic mutations.

• While I have already played in a symphony, I would love to continue these musical experiences.

• I am currently learning Spanish and Korean but would like to become fluent in them eventually.

• I love escape rooms! My best friend and I once drove to Los Angeles from Bozeman to do an escape room series. We did not complete them unfortunately 🙁

• I am a HUGE Tolkien/Star Wars/Formula 1 fan. So, I tend to go on rants with anything related to these topics.

• I also love to read and watch tv shows if I have time. One of my favorite genres is crime, such as Castle, Criminal Minds, Psych, and NCIS. But I do enjoy other genres such as fantasy and comedy.

• I love music in all forms. My friends like to joke about my random assortment of music ranging from classical to rap to kpop.

• I love cats!!!
