Cesar Esteban Perez
Tutor Coordinator & Math Tutor
Background
I grew up in Saint Paul, MN. All of my education has been done in Minnesota. I am a first generation student, and I love to celebrate my Mexican heritage.
Hamline Experience
I decided to go to Hamline University for their amazing route to getting my teaching license. I am majoring in Mathematics with a co-major in Education aiming to be a math teacher. I was also the Social Media Coordinator for the Hispanic and Latino Organization (HALO). My favorite part about taking education courses is that I get to apply what I learn to my past experiences in school and learn how to improve as an educator.
Goals
- I want to teach math in the district I went to as a kid.
- Apart from teaching math, I want to be a part of the AVID program as an AVID Elective Teacher.
- I want to eventually get my Master’s in Education and gain more experience so I create a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
- Create a classroom environment where making mistakes is acceptable and encouraged in order to learn the material.
Other Interesting Facts
- I love coffee and boba.
- I love to listen to music (especially during a late night drive).
- I speak fluent Spanish and some French (through high school).
- I love to play video games in my free time (mostly Nintendo).
